Principals Greeting   Founded in 1997, in response to the need for a private alternative to public education in the Durham Region, Durham Secondary Academy provides a unique learning environment for any student who wishes to attain his/her true potential.     Our classes have a 10 student limit. This is consistent with our belief that small class size has a significant impact on student success. And, we are convinced that  success builds success. In addition, our unique academic year consists of four 10-week terms that allow students to concentrate on two subjects at a time for a total eight courses per academic year.   Who are our students? DSA attracts a variety of students: Good students, who wish to improve their academic performance,  Gifted students who may fast track or work independently,  Athletes involved in special training schedules,  Students with mild learning disabilities, Students whose learning style can benefit from the unique nature of our program. Our biggest advocates are the parents of our graduates. What factors contribute to our success? I believe there are several. We are enthusiastic about what we do. We believe in our students.
